FAQ

Questions & Answers

Everything you need to know before you set sail

What's included in the price?

All charters include a professional skipper, hostess, snorkeling gear, snacks and drinks, charging ports, a sea scooter, premium speakers, WiFi, and full safety equipment. No hidden extras.

How many people can come?

The Colnago 38 accommodates up to 12 guests comfortably, with 2 crew members always on board.

Do I need any sailing experience?

None at all. Our licensed skipper handles everything. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the Adriatic.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. Our skipper monitors forecasts and sea conditions closely. If conditions are unsafe, we'll discuss options with you — adjusting the route to sheltered areas, shifting the start time, or finding an alternative date subject to availability. Any refunds or rescheduling are handled according to the terms agreed at booking.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, a towel, sunglasses, and your swimwear. Everything else — snacks, drinks, and equipment — is taken care of.

Are children allowed on board?

Yes, families are very welcome. Children count toward the 12-guest maximum. Life jackets for smaller children are provided.

Are snacks and drinks provided, or should I bring my own?

Snacks and drinks are included on board — the two on-board fridges are stocked with refreshments and light snacks. Full meals aren't provided, but we're happy to arrange a lunch stop at a waterfront konoba. Let us know any dietary requirements when booking.

How do I get from Split to Hvar?

The fastest and most comfortable way is a private speedboat transfer — we cover the Split–Hvar route in approximately 45 minutes aboard the Colnago 38, with door-to-dock pick-up and no queues. Ferries take 60–120 minutes and share the crossing with vehicles and crowds. With a private transfer you arrive refreshed and on your own schedule.

What's the best Blue Cave tour from Hvar or Split?

A private Blue Cave tour on the Colnago 38 is the best way to experience Biševo's famous sea cave. Unlike crowded group boats, you depart on your own schedule, combine the cave with Vis Island and Stiniva beach in a single full day, and travel in a luxury speedboat with a skipper and dedicated hostess — no strangers, no fixed timetable. Up to 12 guests.

Is a private boat tour worth it vs. a group tour?

Absolutely. A private boat tour gives you complete flexibility — choose your own route, linger at a cove as long as you like, and share the experience only with your group (up to 12). There are no strangers on board, no rushed timetables, and every detail — snacks, drinks, snorkeling gear, sea scooter — is arranged for you. For couples, families, and friend groups who want a memorable day, the difference is night and day.

What should I expect from a private boat tour departing from Split?

Private boat tours from Split typically depart from the city harbour aboard a dedicated speedboat for your group only. Jelsa Nautica runs these tours on the Colnago 38 — a 2022 luxury speedboat for up to 12 guests with a licensed skipper and hostess on board. Routes usually cover the Blue Cave on Biševo, the Pakleni Islands, Vis Island, and hidden coves along the Dalmatian coast. Snacks, drinks, snorkeling gear, sea scooter, and WiFi are included.

How do I choose a private boat charter on Hvar island?

Look for a charter that is fully private (no group sharing), operates a modern, well-maintained boat, and includes a licensed skipper and crew in the price. Jelsa Nautica fits this profile: based in Jelsa on the Island of Hvar, running the Colnago 38 luxury speedboat, with private full-day and half-day charters across the Pakleni Islands, Blue Cave, and Vis Island, plus private transfers between Split, Hvar, and Dubrovnik.

How do I book a private boat tour in Croatia?

Contact Jelsa Nautica by email or WhatsApp with your group size, preferred date, and pickup location. You'll receive a custom itinerary and quote — confirm with a deposit to secure your spot. On the day, meet your skipper and hostess at the agreed pickup point. Everything else — snacks, drinks, gear, and crew — is ready and waiting.

About Jelsa Nautica

Our story

A small operation, by design.

Jelsa Nautica is a luxury private boat-charter company on the island of Hvar, Croatia, founded in 2022 and based in Jelsa harbour. We operate one boat — a 2022 Colnago 38 — with a professional licensed skipper who has over five years of Adriatic experience. One crew, one group per day.

Why a private charter

No strangers on board. Up to twelve of your own people. The itinerary flexes to weather, wind, and what you actually feel like doing that day — Blue Cave before the crowds, a long lunch in Palmižana, a detour to Stiniva when the sea is flat.

You depart on your schedule. You decide when you've had enough sun, when you want to swim, and where you eat lunch. Group tours can't do that.

Why Jelsa Nautica

  • One boat, not a fleet. Every charter gets the owner's attention, not a dispatcher's.

  • Based in Jelsa, not Split. Closer to Pakleni, Vis, and the Blue Cave — less transit time, more time on the water.

  • Licensed skipper on every charter. Five-plus years of Adriatic experience, with local knowledge of weather windows, coves, and quiet anchorages.

  • Premium-spec Colnago 38 (2022). Cummins 385 HP diesel, 26-knot cruise, aluminum hull with teak deck, two on-board fridges, sea scooter, premium sound, WiFi, full safety kit.
